Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the backseat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Mazda CX-9 than in the Kia Niro EV, due to its greater head- and legroom. The Kia Niro EV offers just a little more front head- and legroom than the Mazda CX-9, making it a little more comfortable for the driver and front passenger.

Convenience
With the Mazda CX-9, you will definitely be making fewer stops at the gas station than with the Kia Niro EV, due to its tank size and fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The Kia Niro EV is somewhat more expensive than the Mazda CX-9. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the Kia Niro EV and the Mazda CX-9 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Kia Niro EV is much slimmer than the Mazda CX-9, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the Kia Niro EV, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Mazda CX-9.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque engine, the Kia Niro EV doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Mazda CX-9.

Handling
The Kia Niro EV has a significantly smaller turning radius than the Mazda CX-9, allowing you to much more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The Kia Niro EV has a little less horsepower than the Mazda CX-9.

Utility
The Kia Niro EV has less seating than the Mazda CX-9, making the Mazda CX-9 the better choice, if you need to chauffeur many passengers. The Kia Niro EV has significantly less cargo capacity than the Mazda CX-9.

Warranty
You'll have greater peace of mind with the more generous basic warranty of the Kia Niro EV than that of the Mazda CX-9.
