Comparison Review

Comfort
Due to its greater rear head- and legroom, backseat passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Honda Insight than the Nissan Altima. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Honda Insight and the Nissan Altima in the front seats.

Convenience
The Nissan Altima requires fewer visits to the gas station than the Honda Insight, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Based on MSRP, the Honda Insight is clearly a better financial choice over the Nissan Altima. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Honda Insight and the Nissan Altima have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
The Honda Insight is a little narrower than the Nissan Altima, so you'll have an easier time getting in and out of the car in a tight parking spot. If you go with the Honda Insight, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Nissan Altima.

Drivetrain
The Honda Insight has much less torque than the Nissan Altima, which generally means that it won't feel as fast or powerful.

Handling
The Honda Insight has a smaller turning radius than the Nissan Altima, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Honda Insight is significantly less powerful than the Nissan Altima. The good news is that, reportedly, cars with lower horsepower engines often have lower insurance premiums.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Honda Insight and the Nissan Altima. You'll be able to fit about the same amount of groceries into the Honda Insight as you will in the Nissan Altima.

Warranty
The Honda Insight comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Nissan Altima.
