Comparison Review

Comfort
The GMC Acadia offers a bit more room for passengers in the back seat than the Mazda CX-9. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between front seat comfort in the GMC Acadia and the Mazda CX-9.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the GMC Acadia as you will with the Mazda CX-9, as they are both able to travel similar distances on a tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the GMC Acadia will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Mazda CX-9. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the GMC Acadia and the Mazda CX-9 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the GMC Acadia is much slimmer than the Mazda CX-9, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. The GMC Acadia is slightly shorter than the Mazda CX-9, which may make it easier to park.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque engine, the GMC Acadia doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Mazda CX-9.

Handling
The GMC Acadia has the same turning radius as the Mazda CX-9, so they both maneuver the same in and out of tight spots.

Performance
In terms of towing capacity, the Mazda CX-9 is clearly the choice over the GMC Acadia for pulling heavy loads. When it comes to horsepower, the GMC Acadia greatly out-muscles the Mazda CX-9.

Utility
The GMC Acadia offers greater seating capacity than the Mazda CX-9, making it a better choice for those who find themselves chauffeuring others around. The GMC Acadia has a roomier cargo area for putting your bags or other items than the Mazda CX-9.

Warranty
The GMC Acadia comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Mazda CX-9.
