Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the backseat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Mazda CX-9 than in the BMW X2, due to its greater head- and legroom. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between front seat comfort in the BMW X2 and the Mazda CX-9.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the BMW X2 as you will with the Mazda CX-9, as they are both able to travel similar distances on a tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The BMW X2 is somewhat more expensive than the Mazda CX-9. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The BMW X2 carries a much lower Destination Charge than the Mazda CX-9.

Dimensions
Since the BMW X2 is much slimmer than the Mazda CX-9, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the BMW X2, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Mazda CX-9.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque engine, the BMW X2 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Mazda CX-9.

Handling
The BMW X2 has a smaller turning radius than the Mazda CX-9, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
In terms of horsepower, it's a virtual tie between the BMW X2 and the Mazda CX-9.

Utility
The BMW X2 has less seating than the Mazda CX-9, making the Mazda CX-9 the better choice, if you need to chauffeur many passengers. The BMW X2 has significantly less cargo capacity than the Mazda CX-9.

Warranty
You'll have greater peace of mind with the more generous basic warranty of the BMW X2 than that of the Mazda CX-9.
