Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the back seat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the BMW M4 than the BMW M240, due to its greater head- and legroom. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the BMW M240 and the BMW M4 in the front seats.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the BMW M240 as you will with the BMW M4, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Based on MSRP, the BMW M240 is clearly a better financial choice over the BMW M4. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The BMW M240 and the BMW M4 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the BMW M240 is much slimmer than the BMW M4, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. The BMW M240 is slightly shorter than the BMW M4, which may make it easier to park.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the BMW M240 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the BMW M4.

Handling
The BMW M240 has a significantly smaller turning radius than the BMW M4, allowing much better maneuverability in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the BMW M240 is significantly less powerful than the BMW M4. The good news is that, reportedly, cars with lower horsepower engines often have lower insurance premiums.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the BMW M240 and the BMW M4. The BMW M240 has less cargo capacity than the BMW M4, which is okay if you don't need to move a lot in one trip.

Warranty
The BMW M240 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the BMW M4.
