Comparison Review

Passengers in the back seat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the BMW 740 than the BMW 540, due to its greater head- and legroom. Offering just a little more front head- and legroom than the BMW 540, drivers may find the BMW 740 a little roomier and somewhat more comfortable.

You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the BMW 540 as you will with the BMW 740, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Based on MSRP, the BMW 540 is clearly a better financial choice over the BMW 740. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The BMW 540 and the BMW 740 have similar Destination Charges.

The BMW 540 is a little narrower than the BMW 740, so you'll have an easier time getting in and out of the car in a tight parking spot. If you go with the BMW 540, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the BMW 740.

The BMW 540 has a smaller turning radius than the BMW 740, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

In terms of horsepower, it's basically a tie between the BMW 540 and the BMW 740.

With similar torque, the BMW 540 and the BMW 740 do an equal job of transmitting their engine's power to their wheels.

In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the BMW 540 and the BMW 740. The BMW 540 has significantly less cargo room than the BMW 740, which may be a concern if you do a lot of warehouse shopping.

The BMW 540 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the BMW 740.
