Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the back seat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Volvo S90 than the BMW 530, due to its greater head- and legroom. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the BMW 530 and the Volvo S90 in the front seats.

Convenience
The BMW 530 will require fewer stops at the gas station than the Volvo S90, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The BMW 530 is somewhat more expensive than the Volvo S90. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The BMW 530 and the Volvo S90 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
The BMW 530 is a little narrower than the Volvo S90, so you'll have an easier time getting in and out of the car in a tight parking spot. The BMW 530 is slightly shorter than the Volvo S90, which may make it easier to park.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the BMW 530 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Volvo S90.

Handling
The BMW 530 has a larger turning radius than the Volvo S90, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the BMW 530 is significantly less powerful than the Volvo S90. The good news is that, reportedly, cars with lower horsepower engines often have lower insurance premiums.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the BMW 530 and the Volvo S90. The BMW 530 has a roomier cargo area for holding your bags or other items than the Volvo S90.

Warranty
The BMW 530 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Volvo S90.
