Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the back seat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class than the BMW 530, due to its greater head- and legroom. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be a favorite with taller drivers due to its greater front head- and legroom than the BMW 530.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the BMW 530 as you will with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Based on MSRP, the BMW 530 is clearly a better financial choice over the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The BMW 530 and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
The BMW 530 is a little narrower than the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, so you'll have an easier time getting in and out of the car in a tight parking spot. If you go with the BMW 530, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Handling
The BMW 530 has a smaller turning radius than the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the BMW 530 is significantly less powerful than the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The good news is that, reportedly, cars with lower horsepower engines often have lower insurance premiums.

Powertrain
The BMW 530 has much less torque than the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which generally means that it won't feel as fast or powerful.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the BMW 530 and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The BMW 530 has a roomier cargo area for holding your bags or other items than the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Warranty
The BMW 530 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
