Comparison Review

Comfort
Due to its greater rear head- and legroom, backseat passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the BMW 440 than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the BMW 440 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class in the front seats.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the BMW 440 as you will with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the BMW 440 will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The BMW 440 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
The BMW 440 is a little narrower than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, so you'll have an easier time getting in and out of the car in a tight parking spot. The BMW 440 is slightly shorter than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which may make it easier to park.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the BMW 440 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Handling
The BMW 440 has about the same turning radius as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, allowing equal maneuverability in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The BMW 440 has less horsepower than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the BMW 440 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. You'll be able to fit about the same amount of groceries into the BMW 440 as you will in the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Warranty
The BMW 440 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
