Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the back seat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Kia Rio than the BMW 230, due to its greater head- and legroom. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the BMW 230 and the Kia Rio in the front seats.

Convenience
The Kia Rio requires fewer visits to the gas station than the BMW 230, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The BMW 230 will definitely make more of a dent in your wallet than the Kia Rio, which has a much lower MSRP. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The BMW 230 and the Kia Rio have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the BMW 230 is much wider than the Kia Rio, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging. If you go with the BMW 230, you may be circling the block looking for a space large enough to park more often than with the Kia Rio.

Handling
The BMW 230 has a larger turning radius than the Kia Rio, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the BMW 230 has a much more powerful engine than the Kia Rio. However, something you should consider is that higher horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Powertrain
Due to its much higher torque, the engine of the BMW 230 does a much better job of transmitting power to the wheels than the Kia Rio.

Utility
The BMW 230 has less seating than the Kia Rio, making the Kia Rio the better choice if you need to chauffeur many passengers. The BMW 230 has significantly less cargo room than the Kia Rio, which may be a concern if you do a lot of warehouse shopping.

Warranty
The basic warranty of the BMW 230 is not as nearly as extensive as that of the Kia Rio.
