Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the back seat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Audi A4 than the Audi A3, due to its greater head- and legroom. Offering just a little more front head- and legroom than the Audi A3, drivers may find the Audi A4 a little roomier and somewhat more comfortable.

Convenience
The Audi A4 requires fewer visits to the gas station than the Audi A3, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Audi A3 will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Audi A4. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Audi A3 and the Audi A4 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Audi A3 is much slimmer than the Audi A4, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the Audi A3, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Audi A4.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the Audi A3 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Audi A4.

Handling
The Audi A3 has a smaller turning radius than the Audi A4, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
In terms of horsepower, it's basically a tie between the Audi A3 and the Audi A4.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Audi A3 and the Audi A4. You'll be able to fit about the same amount of groceries into the Audi A3 as you will in the Audi A4.

Warranty
The Audi A3 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Audi A4.
