Comparison Review

Comfort
The Acura MDX offers rear passengers about the same room to stretch out as the Land Rover Discovery, with comparable head- and legroom. The Acura MDX will be popular with taller drivers and passengers in the front seat, due to its greater front head- and legroom than the Land Rover Discovery.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Acura MDX as you will with the Land Rover Discovery, as they are both able to travel similar distances on a tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Acura MDX will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Land Rover Discovery. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Acura MDX carries a much lower Destination Charge than the Land Rover Discovery.

Dimensions
The Acura MDX is about the same width as the Land Rover Discovery. When looking at overall length, the Acura MDX takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Land Rover Discovery.

Handling
The Acura MDX has the same turning radius as the Land Rover Discovery, so they both maneuver the same in and out of tight spots.

Performance
In terms of towing capacity, the Land Rover Discovery is clearly the choice over the Acura MDX for pulling heavy loads. The Acura MDX has a little less horsepower than the Land Rover Discovery.

Powertrain
With its lower torque engine, the Acura MDX doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Land Rover Discovery.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit about the same number of people in both the Acura MDX and the Land Rover Discovery. The Acura MDX has a roomier cargo area for putting your bags or other items than the Land Rover Discovery.

Warranty
The Acura MDX comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Land Rover Discovery.
