Predatory and incompetent best describes Bill Estes Jeep
Predatory and incompetent best describes Bill Estes Jeep STEALERSHIP in Brownsburg, Indiana. Their yelp 1.7 Star rating is appropriate if not, too generous... As the owner of 10+ Jeeps, I have never experienced anything close to this level of dysfunction from a dealership. When I scheduled my appointment, I clearly disclosed that the Jeep had a brand-new Mopar direct-replacement engine with fewer than 150 miles. After the first 100 miles, I experienced misfire codes and suspected a possible electrical issue. Despite this, the "Stealership" asked me to approve $3,600 for camshaft replacement and $670 for an auxiliary battery—a battery that had been replaced less than two weeks earlier and driven fewer than 15 miles since so it would easily look brand new and they did not test it before making the recommendation. After I questioned the estimate, they backtracked completely and admitted that the $4,300 worth of proposed work was unnecessary. Had I not challenged it, I would have been charged for repairs the vehicle did not need. Next, I was told the Jeep needed catalytic converters. I again had to explain that one converter is brand new, installed with the new engine. It is concerning that a dealership could miss both a new engine and a new catalytic converter during diagnosis. I mean I would understand if it had been driven for 100's of miles, but this was NEW as previously disclosed in a 5 year old Jeep. Today, I received a revised estimate of $643 for one catalytic converter and O₂ sensors, which I electronically approved. Hours later, they came back with a new price of $2,460 for the exact same scope of work—Nothing had changed, just a massive increase. This experience raises a serious question: how often are customers scammed by Estes? I would strongly caution anyone considering service here to question every recommendation, request written justification, and seek a second opinion before approving anything. If you care about your friends and family, Make sure you keep them from being scammed at Estes. Dave the service writer and Darla the Service manager take no accountability for their tactics and incompetence. You can see the approved work in the screenshot they refuse to complete now and the ridiculous estimates they sent, later saying it was not necessary!

Scott, thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your visit. I understand from your comments that the estimates, revisions, and explanations you received during the diagnostic process caused significant frustration and concern, particularly given the recent engine replacement you described. I take feedback like this seriously and would welcome the opportunity to directly discuss with you so we can better understand what occurred and clarify any remaining questions. If you’re open to it, please reach out to me. Best, Brian Dobbins General Manager bdobbins@billestes.com

Zero.
Zero. Zip. Worse than poor service. Incompetent, negligent, fraudulent. Have an authorized service request which they state an item was not done and had the receipt been thoroughly reviewed, we would have known it was not done. As it is, within three days of leaving the service center, the vehicle is now inoperable. Photos of missing bolts. Drive shaft was not secured after replacing power transfer unit. Incorrect bolt used. Extra bolt laying loose. Looks more like sabotage. Had the vehicle for 8 weeks and destroyed it. Thanks. They do not even take ownership for the shoddy work and the result.

I have never left a review for anything in my life, but I
I have never left a review for anything in my life, but I hope people will consider this review before going here for vehicle service. My truck was there for almost two months. After calling and leaving several messages, inquiring about the status of my vehicle, and no one returning my calls, I finally demanded to speak with the GM. I was told that they were waiting for the warranty company to approve the work. Then I called the warranty company, they advised me they don’t have any claims regarding service for my truck from any dealers. Fast forward to today, October 25, 2024, I still don’t have my truck and people still aren’t returning my phone calls. So, again I called and demanded to speak with the GM. This time, the receptionist told me that she couldn’t find the GM, but my keys and paperwork were on his desk and they just finished working on my truck last night. Now, why would my keys and paperwork be on the GM’s desk?? Lastly, shortly after they told me my truck was ready to be picked up, I received a text message saying I have a service scheduled for November 4 at 10:30. Surely, this dealer doesn’t think I will EVER be returning, but more importantly, what is the service for, and shouldn’t they have consulted me first, before scheduling me for an appointment? I can’t emphasize enough how bad the this dealer is, if I could give less than 1, I would. I’m anticipating more issues before I actually get my vehicle back, stay tuned.

I apologize for the extensive delays, lack of communication, and the overall experience you’ve faced with our service department. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and it’s clear we missed the mark at multiple stages here. I would appreciate the chance to address these issues directly and provide more clarity. Please reach out to me so we can discuss a resolution. Shashank Dharanendra, General Manager, (317) 456-1618
