Your sales representative "Rod R." who's name and information I obtained from your web page was extremely unprofessional and irresponsible in his behavior on Saturday, May 2, 2020. I will provide a detailed account of what took place that afternoon between Rod, myself and my friend. After contacting a Russ Darrow representative from a cars.com posting for a 2012 BMW 335i (Stock: KPBP12193), my friend and I arrived at your dealership at approximately 4:30pm on Saturday and were immediately greeted by Rod. Upon introducing myself, I expressed my interests to drive the BMW. Your salesman, Rod, proceeded to let me know the car was recently transferred to your dealership at the request of another buyer for a sale on Monday, May 4, 2020. However because of my 'good fortune' that I was there in-person he would show me the car and provide me with the opportunity to purchase it ahead of this other individual (something I found to be extremely odd and incredibly poor business practice). Once Rod located the keys, he once joined us outside and proceeded to start the vehicle. Following this interaction, I had an opportunity inspect the overall condition of the vehicle inside and out. At this point, I offered Rod my driver's license so that I would be allowed to test drive the vehicle. Expecting Rod to proceed inside to make a copy, I handed my license to him. To my surprise, Rod said that there was no need for a copy and that his visual verification would suffice for the purposes of a test drive. I immediately told him that I was accustomed to having a copy of my license being made so that I could complete a 10-15 minute test drive. To which his reply was that it would then require a dealer plate to be produced, which too was deemed by him to be unnecessary at this time. Given Rod’s explanation, I was prepared to test drive the vehicle with my friend. At this point Rod stepped in and offered him to sit exclusively in the back of the convertible. I immediately objected on the grounds that he was there to assist me in purchasing the vehicle, but Rod insisted that this was the only option. Following our brief exchange, the decision was made by my friend to remain in the dealership parking lot rather than lay across the backseat of a convertible. (In all my experience, test driving dozens of vehicles pre-purchase, I've never seen this kind of request made of a buyer or their spouse/partner/friend being asked to sit in the backseat - normally reserved for a salesman. In this case especially given the vehicle was a two-seater for all intents and purposes) To make matters far worse and far more consequential, in light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, I asked Rod about your dealership’s safety practices. I was alarmed that Rod, could comfortably test drive a vehicle with a complete stranger (in this case Me) in such close proximity WITHOUT any PPE (mask or gloves) and WITHOUT requesting or providing any FOR ME to wear the same for his safety. His response was that he would open the window of the car, but that it was my only recourse if I wanted to proceed with the test drive (ALARMING TO SAY THE LEAST!!!) Having taken the opportunity to review your website and your advertisements, about Russ Darrow’s response to the COVID-19 I find this to be a flagrant violation of my safety as well as that of your personnel and completely and utterly unacceptable business practice.

horrible service

Had my alternator replaced (990-dollars) here March 11th and when I went to pick up the car it had not been washed. But that's not the worst of it. A window had clearly been left down on the front drivers side and there was easily a full cup of water in my Weathertech floor mats. Thankfully I have those mats or all that water would have been soaked into the carpets. I can only assume my leather seats on the drivers side were also soaked but they had dried by the time I picked up the car. Making this even worse is the fact that the window was UP when I picked up the car, indicating someone had to drive the car knowing full well there was water inside and didn't bother to dump it out or clean it up. But that's still not the worst of it. Arriving home I opened the hood and found that the plastic retainers holding the cowling around the radiator in place were simply put in place, but not secured...they were just stuck in the holes but not snapped into place. Also the plastic shield under the engine was not properly secured and was actually hanging down! I wrote a very calm letter to the dealer explaining the problems, including the fact that if a multi-point inspection was done, there was no paperwork to show what was found included in my invoice. I did not ask for anything, but said I simply wanted the shop manager to be aware of the problem. As of this date, April 22nd, I have not heard a word back. My note was sent through the "contact us" link on their Web site. I have learned an important lesson: do not ever have my car service by Russ Darrow again. --Ken Herrera, Thiensville

The service I received on a recent visit to Russ Darrow was great. My daughter and I had visited several dealerships recently as we searched for her new car. Our salesman Jerad greeted us when we pulled up and had the car I had called about ready and waiting! We were really impressed with the explanation of the features which other Nissan dealers had neglected to tell us about, both on the test drive and at delivery. The negotiation process was very easy and we were very pleased that Jerad had told us about the college grad program which made everything very easy for my daughter and I. Thank you to the whole team at Russ Darrow Nissan!!!!
