Shady practices

Bought an older altima with a 30 day warranty. Fuel pump was bad when I pulled out of the lot. So much for being certified. Had problems with my fuel pump the first week I got my used car from here. They said they would pay half. Fuel pump is covered by my warranty so I pushed for it to be free. After lots of phone calls and stress, I was told technically only part of the fuel pump was bad so they didn't have to but they would cover the whole thing. Acting like they were doing me a favor. Fuel pump was bad had to legally be replaced free of charge according to the warranty. End of story. That was 2 stressful days I didn't need. The manager will respond to this with some slimy patronizing nonsense. Ignore his response. Who would you believe, a stranger leaving. A review or a car dealer? Maybe it is a great dealership but I wasn’t treated right. I just get blamed for not spending enough money. I only wanted was right and fair. Check engine light came on almost as if they cleared the code and sold it to me.

No service after the sale

The first time I took my car in for inspection a few months after the sale, the passenger side airbag light came on when I picked up the car. I noticed it when I went for the free car wash. Immediately after the car wash, I went right back into service to see what they could do. Of course at that time they were closing in a few minutes so the service advisor handed me a notice regarding a recall on the airbag system. I have a 2014 Maxima and the recall was for the Sentra. There was no recall for the Maxima and still isn't. So the next time I had car in for an oil change, I mentioned the airbag light issue. The service advisor told me that's how it was supposed to work and gave me the recall notice again. The third time in for service was the same thing again. But by this time I was livid. He wanted to argue with me. The manual stated differently and I had already called customer care and was told to get a second opinion from another dealer. The problem was at the time, the light would only come on intermittently. I was not willing to drive a long distance to another dealer and not have the light malfunction occur. I wasn't interested in the possibility of a wasted trip. The passenger airbag light comes on with the bulb check just like the main SRS light and then should go out unless there is a small person sitting in the passenger seat. The light didn't always go out when no one was sitting in that seat. Kane told me it was supposed to be on. Wrong! It was not on when I test drove the car or after I purchased the car. It was only several months before it started exhibiting symptoms. Plus he never even looked at the car or had anyone check it out. This should have been done under the 24mo/24,000 mi used car warranty. I thought the customer was right, at least until proven wrong. They never even tried to provide any kind of service relating to this issue. I would strongly recommend not using Lancaster Nissan for service. My family has since gone to other places for their Nissans or have found other brands of vehicle. To not even make an effort to get all the facts and resolve an issue is just unacceptable!
