At mous Acura North Tampa, owned by David Maus, I traded in my 2022 Chevrolet Suburban for a 2021 Ford Expedition in February. Just two weeks later, a Ford dealer inspection revealed that the vehicle had previously sustained damage and been repaired in two places—none of which were disclosed or reported on Carfax. Additionally, the dealership failed to inform me that the vehicle had been used as an Enterprise Rental car. Instead, they told me it had only had one owner, leading me to believe it had been used by a single family—not hundreds or even thousands of drivers. When I contacted General Manager Albert White about these issues, he flatly refused to take the car back and suggested I either sell it elsewhere or take legal action. In an attempt to resolve the situation, I asked the dealership to find me a comparable vehicle to trade for—one in the same condition as the undamaged Suburban I had originally brought in. Instead, Davin Stotts offered me a deal where I would have to pay an additional $10,000 to trade the Ford Expedition for a 2021 Lincoln. Essentially, they expected me to take another financial hit rather than making things right. When I refused and asked to speak with the owner, I was told, “We are the first ones here.” Further research revealed a disturbing pattern: Maus Acura regularly buys vehicles at auction—damaged or not—repairs them, resells them, and fails to report these repairs to Carfax. I feel completely scammed and taken advantage of. If you are considering doing business with this dealership, think twice. Work with honest dealers who stand by their word—don’t fall victim to fraudulent practices like I did. Before buying from this dealership, make sure to have a specialist inspect the vehicle. Otherwise, you might end up in the same situation I did—losing $10,000 in depreciation in just five days. I strongly urge David Maus, Albert White, Devin Stotts and their team to correct these unethical business practices. Until they do, I will continue to share my experience so that others don’t fall into the same trap.

Shady business.
Shady business. Called on a 2014 vette listed for 38700. The sales person comes back with an out the door number of 47 and some change. 3000 dollars for clean up they only put on 2 new tires,why not replace all 4. I’m sure the sales manger has 4 new tires on his demo, but let’s save money and let the customer drive on 2 old tires. You can see they are considered about the buyers safety. And who know how old those tires are. There is a date code on the sidewall. I understand the 3grand in taxes. But 3GS for clean up and only 2 new tires. I asked for the mangers name and the gave me a manger from another store. Shady management.

Zero trust in this dealership
As a Nissan owner for 20 years, I was a customer of Ferman Nissan. I purchased a vehicle there and took my Nissans there for service and always had good experiences. The dealership is now Maus Nissan of North Tampa and they have lost any trust that remained for me as a former customer. The last time I took my vehicle in for service, there were a few items marked as needing attention, most of which I had them complete at that time. I was a bit annoyed that they had put synthetic oil in my car without even asking but decided to give them another chance. I took my vehicle in last week for an oil change and specifically asked my service advisor, Leo, to check the cabin filter, air filter, and a possible issue with the a/c that would have been under warranty. I was prepared to put in a new cabin filter and air filter and possibly do some other things if they had been recommended. I dropped my vehicle off and went home, receiving a call about 1.5 hours later saying my vehicle was all ready. I asked if they had checked everything because I was surprised that they hadn't recommended doing some of the work they had recommended doing last time. I was told that sometimes when they see that things had been recommended in the past, they didn't actually check those items and just marked them "green" on the form. I said "So you didn't actually inspect my vehicle? I think I need a new cabin filter and air filter." Leo informed me that checking the cabin filter required pulling out the glove box but that he'd ask if they had actually looked at it or not. A few seconds later he said that yes, they had inspected it and it was fine. I picked up my vehicle around closing time and when I got home and looked at the paperwork, every single thing had been marked "green" on the inspection. Even things that had been marked "yellow" or "red" on my last visit were "green". This tells me that they didn't actually inspect my vehicle and they lied to me. I have no idea what actually needs work on my vehicle because they didn't do their job. I have zero trust in this service department or dealership. I will not buy or sell any vehicles here nor bring my vehicle back for service. I will also note that despite having signs posted on their doors, I only saw two employees following covid health and safety protocols and wearing masks. This disregard and lack of consideration for their customers made me feel very unsafe there.
