Review about Tammy/Finance

Reviewed by Bertha from PaOctober 25, 2022

My son purchased a 2023 Toyota Tacoma, the salesman Smerlym was very nice!!! The finance lady ,Tammy was trying to get my son to purchace upgrades and extra warranties. We told her we didnt want them. Then she asked him abt gap insurance. She explained the benefits of having it. And i said thats what insurance is for. She said well, ins may not cover 5000.00 if the truck was totaled. She then looked at my sons fiance and me and asked us if we were going to help him pay that 5000.00 that insurance didnt. Thought that was unprofecional.

Dealer Response

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we did. We apologize if Tammy seemed adamant about offering the gap protection but we had two instances in the past where customers at first declined the coverage and Tammy convinced them of the importance of having it. When they did end up totaling their vehicles, they were so thankful to her. One of the customers even brought her flowers. Both customers would have been responsible for nearly $7,000 if they didn't have the coverage. Having protection coverage isn't for everyone but we at least want to ensure our customers are offered it so they can decide for themselves.

Poor customer service With an bad attitude, is bad

So disappointed by the service provided and the response of the service person M.M ,however when you told this is what needs to be done and what the cost is, in good faith , you agreed . Needless to say, that was not the case , and then having her behaving and acting like she was doing me a favor ,after charging so much and to tell me this is the last time I get a discount , really, if anything was taken off is because when you spend x amount , they take off a few bucks off , she did go out her way for me as puts , I came to your shop because the business says that’s what they do . Hopefully in the near further it’s get better .

Dealer Response

When your car was in for service it was discovered that some items, including add on accessories needed to be repaired. The Service Advisor spoke with the technician and convinced him to fabricate the needed parts to make the repairs. The advisor also had the technician do the repairs and only charged you for half of the required time to make the repairs. The advisor also did apply a large discount to the remaining service work that was done. The overall discount was much more than “a few bucks” We apologize if you feel you did not receive the service that you were accustomed to. We will review this situation and I am sure we can exceed your expectations on the next service visit.

Avoid at all costs

I want to thank you for your business that you have provided me for 15 years. I financed my first car though your dealership in 2006 and since then myself and my family have financed 4 cars total. Up until this year, I never had any complaints. I even would have my “sales person” who I would work with since he treated me and my family well back in 2016. I don’t know what changed but your dealership is not the same. I went in a couple of weeks ago to look at a 2014 Hyundai Velsoster. After bugging the dealership for two weeks to view it! After driving it I was disappointed because it did not meet my expectations. The sales person wasn’t my usual. After speaking to him and expressing my disappointment he said “what did you expect from a 12k car”. I was shocked but I said whatever. I guess he did not want a sale. Last night I called and spoke to “my sales person” and I was interested in trading in my Tacoma for a newer Tacoma since this one has minor problems. After telling me that they do not have any Tacoma’s that I’m looking for (as I prefer a manual over automatic), not once did he say he’d look for one. He didn’t even give me the warm and fuzzy “Hey I’ll see what I can do”. Right after I hung up with him I realized” Why the xxxx am I chasing these guys to give them my business when I have the purchasing power?” So after I got off the phone with him, I called a competitor that was closer and they treated me significantly better. With that treatment, I purchased a new 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport with all the features mine currently has. Moving forward I will not be purchasing or getting my vehicles serviced there. There is no reason I should be driving a hour away out of sentiment to sales people that don’t care about a sale. So thank you for the 15 years of business but you just lost a customer and I will make sure I do not send anyone I know to your dealership again.
