Mercedes Southampton, NY not a good experience
After years of driving an old Ford Explorer, we decided to upgrade to a new but smaller SUV, with more of sedan feel than a truck feel. We reserarched both the Mercedes GLA and GLC and made a test drive appointment at Mercedes Southampton, Long Island NY. The manager sent an email with the date of the test-drive. When we arrived, we asked for the indiviudal, but he seemed engaged with a colleague. After about 15 minutes, a salesperson came out and offered to give us a test drive of each car. While we were in the car, the salesperson did not offer any information on the car. Every question we asked was answered with "yes, well it's typical Mercedes" or "I need to get back to you". We liked the drives of both the GLA and GLC and asked for pricing on both. The saleseperson became very cagey, without giving us firm pricing on either vehicle. He went back and forth to the manager and finally came back with pricing. We decided not to move forward with them because we felt zero trust and that they weren't really interested in our business. We ended up going with the Southampton Lexus NX (despite a higher price than the GLA), which was a much better, consultative, friendly, fair priced and overall pleasant experience. The Lexus salesperson who we made an appointment with welcomed us, offered us a coffee/water on several occassions, educated us for 30 minutes on the car before driving it, answered all of our questions in detail and with anecdotes supporting his answers. Once the test drive was over and he delivered quick and transparent pricing. He also introduced us to his manager. who was very friendly and gave us his direct line to call with him with any other help we needed. We felt the Southampton Lexus team really wanted our business, looking to partner with us in this purchase. BTW, we never even met the Southampton Mercedes manager who made the email test-drive appointment.

POOR SERVICE
While on vacation my car had to be flat bedded to this dealer to replace my low profile run flat tire on my CLS 450. When I was informed the tire had been replaced I asked if the rim was checked and was told it was and was ok. On the way to the dealer I just happened to check the status of my car on my cell phone and it showed 22 psi on the new tire. The Service assistant checked and confirmed the low number and was informed there was a crack in the rim. Why was I told the wheel was checked and ok. Had I not checked my phone for the car's status, I would have driven out and broken down within miles....or possibly gotten into a serious accident. I had to stay an extra day on vacation, miss a days work, while a new wheel was ordered. I have to applaud Shannon for the way she treated me and the service manager, Vincent GraY at Paramus MB for arranging a loner car and getting my car back to me at my home. But shame on you for not properly repairing my car and leaving me in a potentially dangerous situation. Ask Shannon to show you a photo of the cracks in the wheel. Marvin Scott
