I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Mazda

Reviewed by Ethan from Olympia, WAJanuary 29, 2026

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Mazda of Everett and feel compelled to warn other buyers. My trade-in was significantly undervalued, but I accepted the very low offer specifically because I was promised an easier, stress-free process compared to selling the vehicle myself. Unfortunately, that convenience was an illusion. After the sale, the dealership failed to remove my license plates. Because of this negligence, one of their employees later stole the vehicle and racked up hundreds of dollars in tickets and fines — all issued in my name. This caused unnecessary stress and forced me to deal with legal and financial issues that should never have existed. When Mazda of Everett acknowledged their error, their proposed resolution was to fill my gas tank and detail my car, despite the seriousness of the situation and the fact that the dealership is 90 miles from my home. What was supposed to be a simple trade-in turned into a frustrating ordeal. I would strongly advise potential buyers to proceed with caution and to personally verify that all post-sale responsibilities are handled correctly by the dealership. Accountability after the sale matters just as much as the sale itself.

As a former military family and now approaching

Reviewed by Majorly Disappointed January 29, 2026

As a former military family and now approaching retirement, I wanted to share what I feel is an awful experience my family member has had at this dealership, especially as it is in our vital military community. No one deserves the shameful conduct of this place, and most certainly the community should be warned. My son traded in a vehicle to Mazda of Everett and purchased a van he'd researched and was eager to finally buy. He thought this dealership would be on the level, fair. He drove from Olympia, 90 miles for the transaction. The van was great. What wasn't great, my son started getting notices of tickets and fees on the license plates for the vehicle he traded in. Big fines, all for days after his bill of sale for the trade in. He finally was able ro talk to Mazda of Everett manager Jon Doebke over the phone who told my son that they knew exactly what had happened and that they suspected theft by one of their own employees. He apologized and offered my son 'a complimentary detailing' at their dealership, 90 miles away. My son respectfully emailed Jon Doebke 2 business days later with what my son thought would be more equitable, not THE LEAST of which was paying all of the fees, tickets that were incurred by this employee but in my son's name and assurances that Mazda of Everett would cover any such future transgressions while ensuring no more would happen. Jon Doebke has ghosted my son, not replied. Terrible breach of trust and very poor business conduct. Beware.
