Had high hopes with this dealership, but they walked away
Had high hopes with this dealership, but they walked away from a deal within $1000-1500 I knew it wasn’t going to go well when the first words out of the rep’s mouth on the phone was trashing my trade that it had “high miles” when I got quote from another dealer for an extra $200 for being low miles. The impasse happened over my trade. They wouldn’t even give me average book value which ranges from $20,250 to $22,250. Every other dealer was giving me $21,500 sight unseen. Instead they dug their heels in at $19,750 and said they wouldn’t be able to sell it or auction it because of Toyota dealerships around the area. Sounds like a dealership admitting they’re not very good at selling cars. Obviously. They were only taking about $1700 off a $60K+ vehicle- allegedly “invoice” price. And then I even agreed to $699 maintenance package and to shipping my trade to them and the new car to me for $1500 when I already quoted around about $500-$600 is the going rate for shipment per vehicle. I was more than reasonable and they seem to like the car more than I did, I guess. Look elsewhere if you’re looking for a good deal.
