My 80 year old mom took here car for a diagnostic and it

Reviewed by Gerorgianna from Milwaukie, OROctober 30, 2025

My 80 year old mom took here car for a diagnostic and it turned out to be a dead battery and the ended up walking away with a $1,000 bill. Charging 279 for a batters and I was told that they had to perform multiple diagnostics. Price gouging and dishonest. I'd be very wary of using this service center. AutoZone lends out the diagnostic tool for free. This place is criminal for taking advange of customers.

Dealer Response

We are sorry to hear that you felt disappointed with your mother's recent visit. We always aim to provide honest, transparent service and make sure every customer fully understands the work being performed. Before any repairs were completed, Danielle went over the diagnostic results and obtained approval for the recommended services with your mother. The initial concern was a rear hatch issue, if we did not diagnose the issue and just replaced the motor because it was not working, we would have never been able to see it was just a weak battery, saving your mother that additional expense. Separately, the check engine light was caused by an oil level sensor, a completely different system that required its own diagnosis and repair. While basic code readers (like those available at AutoZone) can identify a stored code, they cannot perform the in-depth diagnostic testing needed to confirm the exact cause or safely complete repairs. We understand vehicle repairs can be stressful and appreciate the opportunity to clarify the work that was done. If you would like to go over the invoice or any part of her visit in more detail, please reach out directly.

Title: MAZDA Customer Service is the Worst!

Reviewed by GMacMarch 04, 2025

Title: MAZDA Customer Service is the Worst!! #MAZDADOESNTCARE #MAZDASCUSTOMERSERVICESUCKS #Mazdashameonyou This message is for Oregon residents in the Metro area, if you are looking at a new Mazda beware, we had an ok buying experience and the CX50 TPP is a nice vehicle but when we have been seeking service for an issue, dealer tells me twice they’re short handed and to come back, I reach out to the Mazda Experience team to arrange the resolution. Then out of the blue: Purchase dealer (Gladstone Mazda) calls me, CSR appears to be experiencing her 1st day on earth, doesn’t know why she called me, was directed by the sales team to call me. Call goes from bad to worse, Strike 3! Go to Mazda direct, CSR “Laeyla” now directs me to a dealer across town (Ron Tonkin Mazda), where service and loaner car are arranged. I arrive as scheduled, they have no knowledge of me or an issue and have no loaners, the CSR appeared they could not have cared less about me or providing service. I complain to Mazda, tell them to get Laeyla out of my life, I ask for a supervisor, I’m advised its a 24 hour wait, as of today 40 days counting, still waiting... What do I get, but an email from the worlds worst CSR “Laeyla”, she advises all is arranged with the manager at Tonkin, even to the point she’s arranged an afternoon drop off as we’re returning the service date from the coast, she states the manager is aware and ok with this. I arrive as planned at Ron Ronkin Mazda, guess what, no service ticket, no information on me in the system, but it does look like maybe a car was reserved, but they state we don’t have any... I left Laeyla a VM and thanked her for wasting my time AGAIN! (she won’t call me as the calls are recorded and doesn’t want it on her) no call or email from her, crickets…nice work! While waiting at Tonkin another CSR gets involved, appears to care a bit, advises he’ll call me the next day (Thursday) with an update, he’s "worked with Laeyla many times and it’ll get done” Here it is the close of business Monday, no word from anyone. Tonkin - Silent Mazda - Silent Me - Stuck!! Filled out a survey Mazda sent, asked if I wanted to be contacted, no response. These days good customer service appears to be dead, doesn’t seem anyone cares. FYI, went to but a new CX-70 but it had a delay when the accelerator was pushed from a standing stop, felt dangerous, Tonkin Sales Rep said they’ve addressed it. Why are car makers having so many issues making good reliable cars now and not seeming to care what they put out, it’s a shame. Hence my rant, if you read it thanks, just needed to say it so I can move on…. #IHateMazdaService #Mazdaservicesucks #Laeyla@MazdaSucks #Tonkinkindasuckstoo
