I don’t usually write reviews, but Dan Caffry genuinely deserves recognition. I went into this process prioritizing reliability, honesty, and understanding what I was actually buying, including the service contract. After speaking with three other salespeople elsewhere—one disengaged, one who never followed up, and one with limited knowledge—Dan stood out immediately. Dan is down-to-earth, transparent, and clearly passionate about cars. I initially came in looking for a different vehicle, and he helped me find an objectively better, more reliable vehicle that was still within what I could comfortably afford, taking the time to explain why it was the smarter long-term choice rather than pushing a quick sale. What mattered most was that he educated me. He walked me through reports, CARFAX and details I wouldn’t have understood on my own, explained long-term ownership implications, and followed up when I assumed my first visit was my last. The entire process felt relaxed and human, not a situation where I felt preyed upon by a "Salesman". For the first time, I felt a salesperson cared more about the outcome than the commission. If you care about reliability, transparency, and actually understanding what you’re buying, ask for Dan Caffry.

Bought a vehicle on 4/4/25.
Bought a vehicle on 4/4/25. Was told vehicle was ready for pickup following week. Waited around an hour, vehicle came out unwashed or cleaned. Went to DMV in July to get plates. DMV had not received title. Dealership gave runaround answer. Went again in August. DMV had still not received title. Got runaround again. In the meantime, refinance company threatened to cancel my loan due to not title available. Was told to come in and sign something at dealership. Manager had the audacity to blame delay on employee maternity/paternity leave. As if employees don't have the right to time off to bond with their newborns. Received notice on 9/24 that DMV received title. Almost 6 months after purchase. Nightmare amount of time on phone, emails, mileage, time off work while dealing with a shocking level of incompetence and unprofessionalism.

Buying a car is almost always a stressful event. For most of us, it's our second largest purchase after our homes. That said, I can't overstate how stress-free and pleasurable it was to work with McDonald Mazda West for the purchase of our new Mazda. This especially goes for our salesman Santiago B. We started the transaction as strangers and I dare say we ended it as friends. He was patient and informative with no pressure. His boss Joe M. was also a pleasure to work with on the purchase. McDonald is not a "no-negotiation" dealership. That said, the negotiations were easy. Recognizing they're a business that deserves a profit, we set forth several reasonable negotiation points and all were accepted. I believe we got a better price that what we would have paid at a fixed price dealership. They even threw in a couple of "above and beyond" gestures. We couldn't be more pleased and look forward to servicing our new Mazda with them. The dealership is bright, white, clean with a nice waiting area and some pretty good snacks!
