2017 Lincoln Navigator L Overview (See Available Styles)

  • Seats up to 8 passengers
  • Standard power-folding third-row
  • Standard SYNC 3 touchscreen multimedia system
The 2017 Lincoln Navigator is a full-size luxury SUV that competes with the Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, and Lexus LX 570. This year, it remains largely unchanged.

Two trims are available: the Select and Reserve.

There were no styling changes made to the Navigator’s exterior. The grille, like the 2016 model, is a boxier version of Lincoln’s winged grilled that is found on the rest of its vehicles. There are two Navigator models available: a standard version with a 207.4-inch wheelbase and an extended L model with a 222.3-inch wheelbase. 20-inch wheels are standard, with even larger 22-inch wheels optional.

Under the hood, the Navigator features a 380-hp, twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 EcoBoost engine that is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The full-sized SUV comes standard with 2-wheel drive (2WD), while a 4-wheel drive (4WD) system is optional. The EcoBoost engine improves the Navigator’s fuel economy to 16/22 mpg city/highway when equipped with a 4x2 drivetrain. The Navigator sports an adaptive suspension, which allows the driver to choose between three settings (Comfort, Normal, and Sport) depending on the situation. It also features best-in-class towing capabilities with a maximum load of 9,000 pounds.

The Navigator comes with seating for 7 or 8 passengers depending on your choice of captain’s chairs or a bench for the second-row. A power-folding third-row comes standard; it folds into the floor and allows for more cargo room when necessary. The Navigator is packed full with standard equipment, including heated/cooled front seats, leather upholstery, navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, HD radio, power adjustable foot pedals, USB ports, and Bluetooth connectivity. It also comes standard with SYNC3 technology which combines SYNC with MyLincoln Touch Features plus Lincoln’s next generation voice-activated technology.

Standard safety features include a blind spot warning system and a rearview camera. The Navigator also features Hill Start Assist and Hill Decent Control, which automatically holds the brake on inclines to prevent backwards rolls and applies brake pressure as needed to descend grades at controlled speeds.
