Fantastic cruiser. It drives smoothly on the road but the 400 HP engine gets you going in a flash. Very comfortable for long trips. It is nice to see guys driving Mercedes staring at your car because it looks that good.

2017 Lincoln MKZ Overview

The 2017 Lincoln MKZ is a midsize luxury sedan that seats 5 passengers. This year, it has a revised front-end and updated technology. It competes with the Cadillac CTS, Buick LaCrosse, and Lexus ES. The available MKZ Hybrid will be covered in a separate overview.

Four trims are available: the Premiere 100A, Select 200A, Reserve 300A, and Black Label 800A.

The MKZ has been restyled more moderately than its predecessor. This time, it has a singular front grille with a unique ogee-mesh pattern. The headlights are squared off and separated from the grille. The front fascia has larger, aggressive air vents and a metallic trim. The MKZ has a narrow, three-piece LED tail light strip that stretches across its blockish rear. Standard features include adaptive suspension, power/heated side mirrors with turn signal indicators, a dual-pipe exhaust system, and HID headlights. Available features include adaptive LED headlights, a power trunk, and a panoramic moonroof.

Under the hood, the MKZ is powered by a standard 240-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and front- or all-wheel drive. A more powerful 350-hp, twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 is also available. The V-6/AWD model is tuned to produce 400-hp. Fuel efficiency for the MKZ 4-cylinder is an EPA-estimated 21/31 mpg city/highway (20/28 mpg for AWD). The rating drops to 18/27 mpg for the MKZ V-6 (17/26 mpg for AWD).

Inside, the MKZ has a premium leatherette interior with a split-folding rear seat. The Black Label trim has Venetian leather seating with Lincoln’s unique star pattern embossment. The center stack features the SYNC 3 multimedia system, which includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, a satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio, and dual USB ports. It can be upgraded with an integrated navigation system, voice recognition control, and a Revel premium audio system. Standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, power/heated front seats, a leather steering wheel, and remote start. Available features include leather upholstery, wood interior accents, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats.

The MKZ earned a full 5-star overall crash test safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Standard safety features include a backup camera and a tire pressure monitoring system. Available features include adaptive cruise control, a blindspot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert, pre-collision assist, pedestrian detection, active park assist, and lane keep assist.
