In Nov '18 I purchased a used car at Campbell. During the transaction I asked a lot of questions regarding the car I was purchasing which were answered to my satisfaction and I was shown the dealership inspection and work order for the vehicle. One of the notations alarmed me, it said in all caps: TIRE CONDITION RED. So I asked my salesman, Scott, about this and he went out to the service dept to ask about this notation. The man from the service dept said that he thought they put new tires on that vehicle, he then went outside and looked at the vehicle, came back in and said to Scott and I that they had in fact put new tires on that car. So feeling comfortable that the car was what I was looking for and in good road condition, I purchased the vehicle. During the course of the past year I have had minor issues with the vehicle, after the first issue where I called Scott at Campbell I learned that although I had been told to call if I had problems, the problems were my own and I would not get any help at Campbell. Fast forward to Dec '19, I had rec'd a recall notification from my vehicle manufacturer, so I took my car to a local dealership for that work. I asked the service manager there to look at my tires to make sure they were winter weather ready, he called me almost immediately and tells me that 3 of my tires are at or below discard level for my tires. I have only had this vehicle for 13 months at this point, at the time of this inspection I had only put 8,971 miles on the vehicle. So I called Scott at Campbell to tell him that these could not have been new tires and I was very upset. Scott says he would like to see the tires, so I immediately drive to Campbell so Scott can inspect the tires. Scott has no recollection that there was a statement to me that these tires had been replaced. I understand that, he has probably sold a lot of cars over the last 13 months, but I have only purchased one car and so I trust my recollection. Scott also tells me repeatedly that there is nothing in writing stating that the tires on this vehicle had been replaced, which I agree with, but I was told verbally by a representative of the service dept that the tires had been replaced. So, Scott tells me that maybe Campbell will give me a discount for new tires, I tell him that I will wait to hear from him and I leave. I left at roughly 3pm, I did not hear from Scott or Campbell the remainder of that day, or the next, or the next. On day 4 I wake to freezing rain and snow and decide that I can wait no longer and I go buy a new set of tires. It has been 5 business days since my conversation with Scott regarding this situation and I have still not heard from him or Campbell. Would I recommend Campbell to friends or family, no I would not. And if you do decide to deal with them for a used car, get an independent inspection of the car before purchasing AND get EVERY detail in writing because at Campbell their word and a handshake mean nothing. Also, final comment, even if I'm mistaken about what I was told regarding these tires having been replaced (which I'm not), shame on you Campbell for knowingly selling a vehicle with TIRE CONDITION RED!!!
