Lexus’ ES sedan rolls into 2024 with few changes. A newly available Technology Package bundles the existing 12.3-inch touchscreen, head-up display and SmartAccess Card Key into one. For the 2024 model year, the ES will start at $43,190 (all prices include a $1,150 destination charge).
Built on Toyota’s Global Architecture-K platform, the solid and serene ES again offers three powertrain options. The ES 250, with its 203-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, is available exclusively with all-wheel drive. The ES 350 drives (and will readily spin) its front wheels with a 302-hp, 3.5-liter V-6; both models use an eight-speed automatic transmission. A version of the four-cylinder pairs with an electric motor to give the hybrid ES 300h a total of 215 hp and an EPA-estimated 44 mpg combined. The hybrid uses a continuously variable automatic transmission to drive its front wheels.
All three engines are available in base, Luxury and Ultra Luxury trims, as well as an F Sport Design variant that includes a more aggressive front bumper with a trim-specific grille, rear spoiler and gloss-black 19-inch wheels. ES 350 and ES 300h buyers can follow through on the look by stepping up to the F Sport Handling variant, which nets an adaptive variable suspension, plus aluminum pedals and trim.
The Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 is standard across the board on the 2024 ES. It includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, active lane-centering steering, lane departure warning and road sign recognition.
