Purchased a used 2016 Honda Pilot. Before leaving dealer lot, got an electronics error - apparently a known problem with this model/year car. Dealer tried to weasel out from repairing, but eventually agreed to check it out. Dealer called back two days later to inform me that it's too expensive to fix, so I will get my money back. Car is now back on the dealer site, with no mention of electronics issue. Dealer clearly hoping some other sucker will buy it and not get the electronics issue until they're home already. This kind of behavior is what gives used car dealers a bad reputation.

You always hear about the bad reputations of working with car dealers but this was the first time we truly experienced the classic “bait and switch.” In what was later described by the general manager as a disagreement over trade in value (ie the sales associate quoted us a number that was higher than what they were really ready to pay), the dealership sold the car we were set to purchase (deposit in the form of our trade-in was provided to secure the sale). They informed us of the purported sale of the new vehicle 15 minutes before we were scheduled to transfer the plates. Instead of helping us into a new car or explaining what happened, the Finance Manager told us we should just take our trade-in to another dealership bc there was nothing he could do to help us. As a Lexus customer for 15 years we were amazed by the lack of professionalism, customer service, and overall competence. However we did exactly that and immediately took our car to another dealership. I would never recommend Lexus of Brooklyn.

Met them at a charity event in the community 5 years earlier. The extent of their pitch was - "If you ever need us, we're here." When it WAS time for a new car, I checked out other models and dealerships, but I was welcomed as an old friend by Bay Ridge Lexus. NO hard sell, all information accurtae, and a great price.. Service since has been outstanding, always going above and beyond what is required. I have recoomended them to ANYONE intertested in a Lexus, new or used.
