Had a poor experience here. I went into to see if I could get a key fob programming done. Unfortunately they were not able to do it due to the key fob I apparently brought in. They said it was the fob and something was wrong with the fob it wouldn’t program. Tech tried for an hour. So they still wanted to charge me $120 for an hour of just trying to get to work. Blame the key fob, which is fine. KIA Renton didn’t charge me when they tried to pair a previous key fob I brought in that was an older model. Renton KIA help me identify that so I purchased the right fob this time with the part number provided by KIA. I just happen to go to Sunset because it was closer and had available time. Now they had people in before with same service request and they know it’s a 50/50 chance it may not work but they fail to identify that to me and probably a lot of other customers. Knowing if it’s only a 50/50 chance they can program it would significantly help a customer make a choice of spend $120 for them just to try. I’m use to people charging upon completion of a job not just the time and labor. At this point I was fine to pay the fee for the good old try and effort but then they had a guy that had to open his smug mouth and say some stupid xxxx about “do you work for free” “what do you do for a living” xx and I believe he was a supervisor of some sort. Because all the employees that were there just put their head down and didn’t have much to say in support of his fantastic customer service. I believe his name was Kevin, sure was acting like one. I take accountability for scheduling an appointment there, I should have been patient and go to the place where they value their customers more. Setting expectations with customer, specially when you have knowledge of potential outcome not guaranteed. The staff seem great but the leadership was poor. You could feel the vibe that they probably didn’t like working for or with him. To address an issue with a customer in the manner he did is embarrassing. I didn’t have a problem paying it’s the way it was handled that rub me the wrong way. Customer service still matters, just not what I experienced today unfortunately. I’m just sharing for awareness. At the end of the day you can help people or hustle them. I’m not even 100% sure if they gave me back the same key fob I brought in. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Called around and got a fair offer from Sunset. Met the finance guy and then the up-sale started. Half of the paperwork was already printed and tge other half was on a tablet that was built into the desk. Bottom line I got home and had over $4000 added to the transaction. It took me 3 weeks to rectify it. I received a 10 minute introduction to the car(ev9gt) a very technical car. Absolutely no follow up! If you do visit the dealership, ask for Ben. When I went to pick up the plates, he put them on in the pouring rain. Then he spent at least 45 minutes explaining the functions of the car. He had nothing to gain by helping me, just a good guy that knew his stuff. If you do visit this dealership ask for Ben, he will do you right.
