I spent over $80,000 on a new vehicle from Jerry Seiner KIA SLC — and walked away with a frustrating, disappointing experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone. The sales process was smooth, and on the surface everything looked great. But during the drive home, I noticed some film residue still on the car. I brought it back and they buffed it out. Once I got home and saw the car in good lighting, I found aggressive scratches on the hood, near both headlights, under the passenger mirror, and on the front passenger fender. These weren’t light swirl marks — it looked like someone had carelessly rubbed something abrasive across the paint. I contacted the dealership right away. Harv, the customer relations manager, came to inspect it and said he had spoken with the staff who worked on the car. But instead of accountability, I got a firm denial. Their response felt more like going through the motions than actually trying to make it right. It’s outrageous to treat an $80K customer this way — dismissing the damage, denying responsibility, and basically implying I was lying. If you’re planning to buy from them, inspect the car very carefully before you sign anything. Because once you drive off the lot, you’re on your own.

Each vehicle is closely inspected when it arrives to Jerry Seiner, specifically looking for any damage that may have happened during transport. The vehicle next goes through its pre-delivery inspection prior to moving to the front line for sale, and once a vehicle is sold it is cleaned for delivery by the delivery team. At the time of sale the salesperson goes through a walk around with the guest to inspect the vehicle. In your situation you noticed scratches when you arrived home after the purchase and the vehicle was buffed to take care of the issues that you noted. And you again walked around the vehicle when the buffing was completed. And employees of Jerry Seiner did the same. No scratches were noticed by yourself or the Jerry Seiner team. Days later you called Jerry Seiner regarding more scratches. The Customer Relation Manager, Harv, did go out to your home to inspect vehicle and there were clearly new scratches noticeable on the front of the vehicle. Harv took pictures of the new scratches. The Jerry Seiner team is certain that the new scratches were not there prior to selling the vehicle, nor when the buffing was done. Jerry Seiner would never call a guest a liar. Jerry Seiner is proud of the excellent team members who perform their jobs with excellence. And we appreciate our guests too for choosing Jerry Seiner.

This week, I bought a KIA Soul from Jerry Seiner KIA Salt Lake—my 3rd KIA through Jeffrey. He is patient answering many questions, offers suggestions so I can choose a car fitting my needs & budget. Jeff makes sure I have the best deal that he can offer. Matt in KIA Salt Lake service department is always helpful & honest. During the 3 or 4 times a year, I go. With no pressure from him (unless there is danger from worn brake pads or tire treads). Matt makes sure I have in everything in writing including estimated costs for my warranty, & to keep my car running for many years. He makes sure I agree to the price and that the service is done exactly right. A special deal with an oil change--hey will do a safety inspection with a narrated video and a written checklist showing the condition of the car. Even with a KIA dealership much closer to my home, I drive extra miles to Salt Lake KIA because of employees I can trust and who care about me as a person--not as just another customer.

I wrote a review about how I wasn't taken care of. Since then jerry seiner kia reached out to me and apologized and DID make things right. I wanted to take down my other review but I don't know how. So I am feeling better about this dealership.
