DECEPTIVE DEALER! The price on the website for a used car is NOT the price of the car. The dealer added $2600 of dealer added options - anti scratch paint, seat protection and lo-jack. They made promises to clean the car, fix a broken trunk, and make a second key as part of the purchase. They couldn’t prove the anti scratch or seat protection addition and they forced the lo-jack on sellers stating once installed it can’t be remove after it has been installed (we were adamant we did not want the lo-jack). In our research, found out that the lo-jack is a box which is installed and can be removed. After hours of negotiation the an agreed price. Next day we came back with our check and to sign documents - found out the car was not washed, truck not fixed and there was no spare key. They asked if we don’t want the Lo-Jack they would remove it… we questioned why the car was not ready and the lies about the lo-jack.. After all this frustration dealing we walked away from the deal. It was the WORST interaction with a dealer.

This dealership is a complete bait-and-switch operation. On 9/6/25, Winn Kia advertised a 2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid EX with 6,991 miles for $28,888 (VIN KNDPVCDG8R7174170, Stock #U3672). Their website and Cars.com matched the listing. I called twice before making the 9-hour round trip from Redding, and both times was assured the car was on the lot, available, and priced at $28,888. I even asked directly if there were any hidden fees or add-ons. They said no. When we arrived, the salesperson suddenly claimed the car was “actually in Oakland” and not on the lot at all. He then presented us with an out-the-door price of $39,426.96 — nearly $11,000 higher than advertised — loaded with bogus add-ons (LoJack, Clear Shield, Lux Care, warranty, etc.). When I declined, I was told the add-ons were mandatory and could not be removed. The manager, “Oso,” confirmed this, refused to honor the advertised price, refused to put it in writing (other than the inflated worksheet), and even refused to let me record the conversation. In his presence, I wrote on the worksheet: “Per Oso 9/6/25 unadvertised ‘add-ons’ are not optional and cannot buy vehicle without those add-ons.” He verbally confirmed this was correct. This is textbook bait-and-switch, in violation of California law. They knowingly lied, pressured us to rush down, wasted an entire day, and caused us to walk away from another valid deal. Deceptive, dishonest, predatory. Avoid Winn Kia of Fremont at all costs.

Buyer Beware!! Deceptive, illegal business practices. Bait and Switch. We drove four hours to purchase a vehicle from this dealership advertised on their website and on Card.com for $28,880. We called first to verify the vehicle was available and that the price was correct and that there were no funny out the door add one before driving 4 hours. They assured us we’d get the vehicle for $28,880. After driving 4 hours as soon as we arrived they began changing their story and saying that there were so many people waiting to buy the vehicle and they printed out a pricing sheet showing the exact same car for $39,426 - more than $10k more than the publicly advertised (and twice verified over the phone price). I told them we didn’t want the LoJack, “Clear Shield”, “Lux Care”, “Kia Maintenance Plan” and warranty that were adding $8k and they said that those were “add ons that were already installed” and we could not buy the car without them. They refused to put this in writing when I confronted them that these are illegal and unethical practices and refused to honor the advertised price. I will be filing complaint with DMV and State AG, but these guys are crooks and liars - stay FAR away!
