The 2017 Kia Cadenza is a full-size sedan that competes with the Ford Taurus, Toyota Avalon, and Nissan Maxima. This year, it has been redesigned with more upscale features.

Three trims are available: the Premium, Technology, and Limited.

Overall, the redesigned Cadenza is sleeker and more sculpted than its predecessor. The front-end features triangular headlights and a geometric, segmented lower fascia. The front grille is wider and uniquely concaved. The grille is styled with a diamond-mesh pattern for the Premium trim or vertical slats for the Technology and Limited trims. Standard features include fog lights, power/heated side mirrors with turn signal indicators, a dual-pipe exhaust system, and a smart trunk lid that unlocks automatically near your smart key. LED headlights, LED fog lights, a panoramic moonroof, and a smart power trunk lid are also available.

Under the hood, the Cadenza is powered by a standard 290-hp, 3.3-liter V-6 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and Smart Shift and Drive automatically selects between ECO, Normal, or Sport drive mode based on your driving habits. Fuel efficiency for the Cadenza is an EPA-estimated 20/28 mpg city/highway.

Inside, the Cadenza has leather-trim seating with a 60/40-split folding rear seat. The center stack features Kia’s UVO multimedia system, which includes a 7-inch touchscreen, UVO eServices, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio, and a USB port. It can be upgraded with an integrated navigation system and a Harman Kardon premium audio system. Standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, power windows/locks, remote keyless entry, push-button start, an automatic dimming rearview mirror, and power/heated front seats. Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a leather shift knob, and a wireless phone charger are available as well.

Front air bags, antilock brakes, an electronic stability control system, and a backup camera come standard. Available features include a blindspot warning system, rear cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and a surround view monitor.
