Five trims are available: Sport, Latitude, Latitude Lux, High Altitude, and Trailhawk.
Under the hood, it is powered by a standard 180-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive (FWD). An optional nine-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive (4WD) drivetrain. Fuel economy for the FWD Compass is an EPA-estimated rating of 22/31 mpg. It slightly decreases to a 22/30 mpg rating with the 4WD model.
