Five trims are available: Latitude, Latitude Plus, Latitude Lux, Limited, and Trailhawk.

Powering the Cherokee is a standard 180-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard, while four-wheel drive is available. A more powerful 271-hp, 3.2-liter V-6 is also available. Fuel economy for the Cherokee 2.4L is an EPA-estimated rating of 22/31 mpg city/highway. It slightly decreases to a 18/24 mpg rating for the Cherokee 3.2L.
