WORST DEALERSHIP EVER IN MY OPINION.

Reviewed by chiefchurch911November 29, 2025

WORST DEALERSHIP EVER IN MY OPINION. Rather than post my review, here is my BBB complaint word for word. Purchased a used vehicle from Westgate Jeep. Sales process was fine. Drove vehicle off the lot, 5 safety problems surfaced with control center lights. Brought the vehicle back, it was looked at for five minutes and I was sent home pending parts. Returned the vehicle ten days later. Dealership returned the vehicle to me unfixed. Submitted the vehicle back to the dealership. The dealership's service manager advised he was "no longer associated with the repair or the vehicle". An outside shop was being used to repair the vehicle, and Westgate, per an employee, had a running argument with them about an undisclosed accident and poor repairs they did. The dealership had the vehicle for a total of 10 weeks. I had to involve Jeep Corporate to make any progress on the vehicle. During this time the Sales Manager, Chris Vollmer, was handling all communication. Two weeks into the ten weeks he stopped communicating with me at all. Voicemail at the dealership, voicemail on cell (he provided the number), text to cell all unanswered. With Jeep Corporate's help Westgate took the vehicle in-house to attempt repair. It was returned and several of the safety problems immediately returned. I have since brought the vehicle to another dealership. They requested all the repair orders, repair invoices, and detailed technician's notes for all service Westgate and their outside vendor performed on the vehicle. I have asked for this documentation repeatedly and have only received a single repair invoice, no meaningful technician's notes, no response. I have attempted to gather this information by contacting Tom Ayers, the dealership's current Service Manager, the manager of the technician who finally took ownership of the repairs. I intend to enter arbitration with the dealership seeking restitution for loss of use of the vehicle, and the lack of the attendant documentation requested multiple times. The dealership has disallowed contact with any mgmt. or owner.

WORST DEALERSHIP EVER IN MY OPINION.

WORST DEALERSHIP EVER IN MY OPINION. Sales process fine... Ernest Green is a good salesperson. I'd buy from him again. Not at Westgate, no chance! Bought used Jeep Compass Latitude Lux. 5 safety failures occurred (all indicated by Console errors and lights). Short story... the dealership had the vehicle for nearly 12 weeks. Would not communicate with me. The Sales Manager, Chris Vollmer, refused to communicate with me for weeks despite dealership VMs, cell VMs, and cell texts. Had to involve Jeep Corporate. Vehicle was returned to me with three of the same problems occurring within 3 days of return. I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH WESTGATE AGAIN. They service practices are opaque and fraudulent in my opinion. They refused to communicate with me for weeks on end. They still owe me significant repair documentation for my new dealership. Here's the icing on the cake. Despite specifically requesting to speak with the GM, the Sales and Service managers' manager,s and the owner, I was completely ignored or denied. Headed to arbitration. Unfairly treated, horrible (as in no) Customer Service, and even Jeep Corporate had trouble motivating them. Despite the request for management contact to Jeep Corporate, the dealership continues to refuse. Wish I'd never heard of Westgate. I could never make any recommendation other than, in my opinion, stay far, far, FAR away!

I’m not someone who rushes to leave bad reviews — I’ve worked in customer service my whole life. My first jobs were at McDonald’s, then as a dishwasher, Dunkin’ Donuts late nights, cab driver, and almost 10 years with Hilton. I understand how hard these jobs can be, and I never want to see anyone lose theirs. But what I went through with Westgate Jeep Raleigh and Jeep Corporate has been one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had with any brand. I brought in my 2018 Grand Cherokee (only 37,000 miles) for what started as minor issues, and ended up paying almost $5,000 in repairs — water pump, thermostat, batteries, A/C expansion valve, coolant leak, and even a windshield/cowl issue. I was told the job would take two days, and it took over two weeks. The lack of communication was brutal. My first advisor was let go mid-repair, and I had to keep calling just to find out what was going on. No one from management ever reached out — not once — even after I contacted Jeep Customer Service (Jeep Cares) directly. To this day, Jeep Corporate hasn’t responded to my email. I had to pay $250 for a tow and $411 for a rental car, extending it four times because no one gave me a straight answer on when my car would be ready. The team was friendly, but clearly untrained and unsupported. What this situation needed was someone — anyone — to step in and say, “I know this has been a mess, and we’ll make it right.” Instead, when I finally got my car back after 16 days, I was simply asked, “You happy to get your car back?” That line summed it up: nice people, no ownership. I don’t blame the employees. This comes down to leadership and training — and a brand that doesn’t seem to back its customers or its front-line staff. I’ve loved my Jeep for years, but spending nearly half my car’s trade-in value on early repairs, with no communication or follow-up from Jeep, has made me seriously reconsider the brand. Cars are major purchases, and people deserve better than this kind of experience.
