The only good part of my experience was that my salesman Collin and the GM Steve were nice. Everything else in my overall experience was terrible. I was given the run around by multiple salesmen the week leading up to our purchase. I was told by the salesman that we drove two hours to see that the car I was coming to look at was sold before I got there. After going back and forth with him we found a brand new Explorer only to have him tell us that it was no longer available and was sold that morning. After leaving that dealership we decided to look into other locations to stop and see a similar car to decide if we would want to purchase. Upon our arrival there we were informed that the one we wanted was in fact not sold but at another location 20 minutes past where we had just driven from. With that dealership closing 30 minutes later we flew back to the dealership that had the car so we could test drive it. Arriving at the location as they were closing they allowed us to test drive the car. We decided we wanted to purchase and we asked if we would be able to go ahead and do that on the spot. Unfortunately we were not able to do that, and understanding that we came to the agreement that I would have to come back on Monday morning, the next day that they were open. We were told from the gentleman at the first dealership that we would qualify for all the rebates listed on the website, the gentleman at the last dealership said they would “make it worth our while” to make the trip back on Monday. We were under the impression that we would be getting our car with no issues at all. I made the trip Monday morning and arrived at around 10:30am. Everything from that point on went downhill. The finance man, Matt, came out, abrasive and arrogant. Informing me that we did not qualify for any rebates, which we did. When I questioned how the came to my trade in value he wouldn’t produce any paperwork showing how they came to that number instead he arrogantly told me that they came up with that number because that’s what the felt. He then got up and went back to his office to “look into” any other rebates that we might qualify for. After deciding we could get the first responder discount another salesman, Kyle, came over to assist Collin with getting a personal account set up to verify our first responder status and when I told him that I would enter my own personal password he stood up and walked away from the desk and told Collin “you take care of it”. Another salesman from the Ford dealership who was very nice by the way, ended up helping to get my account set up. After speaking with the GM to go over the price of the car and try to understand why I wasn’t eligible for additional rebates that are on their website I was told that it was because of where I live. He was willing to give me a little more for my trade, but it didn’t make up for the difference in what we thought we were going to pay. In the end I payed more than two thousand dollars more than I had anticipated. They may not seem like a lot of money, but for us it is. I was told for hours that my paperwork was being worked on. After sitting there for five hours I had to leave to go get something to eat. In total I spent SEVEN hours in the dealership waiting to purchase my car, and I didn’t even finance it! They did nothing but waste my time all day long. It took five minutes for me to sign all my paperwork and write the check for the car. It took ten minutes to go through the car and be on my way home. I waited SEVEN hours for 15 minutes with of paperwork. I have never been so disappointed with purchasing a vehicle in my entire life. I thought numerous times through the day that I should just get up and walk out, but the only person that would have been affected would have been myself because they clearly didn’t care about me as the customer at all. I wanted the car and didn’t want to go through anymore than I had already been through so I stayed. Unbelievably terrible.
