I purchased a 2011 Jeep Wrangler at Fox Hills in February...
I purchased a 2011 Jeep Wrangler at Fox Hills in February of this year and have had nothing but issues with the Jeep since. When I traveled from Chicago to test drive the Jeep, the CEL came on (code indicated issue with EGR valve). When I inquired about this, I was told something to the effect of: a repair was done in the area of the EGR valve which caused it to open and that it would be taken care of 😒. Now of course this was a red flag and I was aware he was lying because I previously owned a Wrangler for 4 years. However, I decided to go through with the purchase since I’m familiar with the repair (had it replaced on previous Jeep) and knew it wasn’t too expensive. To “take care of it,” the service department simply turned off the CEL 😒. Sure enough it came RIGHT back on the second day of owning it. Finally spent $300 to get it fixed the other day. For that alone I don’t recommend this dealer. However, there’s more. A couple months later, the horn stops to work in all aspects (when panic button/ center steering wheel is pressed and when locking the Jeep). Never experienced this w/ previous Wrangler that was older. Haven’t even begun to delve into this issue and get a quote etc. because of everything else on my plate but WAIT, there’s more. A couple weeks ago as I’m driving, I notice a screeching/ grinding noise when braking and accelerating. Again, never experienced this w/ previous Wrangler that was older. At the moment I thought, SURELY it can’t be the pads/ rotors because the dealer told me they were replaced earlier this year. Fast forward, I get a diagnosis and quote: $940 to replace the sticking front, left caliper (causing the issue), right caliper and pads/ rotors on both sides. I was hesitant about this dealer because I saw the reviews on other sites about their questionable dealings; however, I didn’t follow my intuition. Here to help the next person. I purchased a 2007 Jeep Wrangler from another Jeep dealer, had it for FOUR years and never went through a FRACTION of this trouble. I’ve owned this Jeep for all of 5 months. Dishonest people/ practices truly are the worst but I believe in karma. I wouldn’t recommend Fox Hills to a soul unless they have copious amounts of money to waste. Shameful. The one star is simply for the fact they drove the Jeep to me which I appreciated.
