The 2023 Hyundai Sonata is a mid-size sedan that features a bold hexagonal front grille, smoothly sloped body lines, and narrow-slit taillights that stretch across the backend. It competes with the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, and Nissan Altima.
Four trims are available: SEL, SEL Plus, N Line, and Limited.
Two engine options are available: a standard 191-hp, 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a more fuel efficient 180-hp, turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder. Both engines are mated to the same eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. At the time of this writing, the Sonata 2.5L earned an EPA-estimated rating of 28/38 mpg city/highway. It decreases slightly to a 27/27 mpg rating for the Turbo 1.6L Sonata.
