Frustrating and Stressful Sales Experience

I am not doing this to be mean but just as a warning to other potential customers. I had a terrible, stressful experience with a particular sales associate at Walser Hyundai on Saturday, February 13. I suspect that the sales person was relatively new to the job and wasn't ready to be on her own and this reflected very poorly on my overall experience. It started out fine. She had the car ready for me to test drive when I arrived. But when I decided I didn't want that car after all, things went rapidly downhill. My husband found a different car on the web site, showed it to her, and she went to find it. Nearly an hour later, she still hadn't returned, nor had she given me an update of what was going on. I was ready to give up and leave when the manager came over and placated me into staying. The sales person returned a few minutes later and told me she couldn't find the car and was going to continue looking for it. She was literally just wandering around in the lots, looking for it visually. My husband and I left to get lunch but before heading out we drove around the lots looking for it as well and we found her wandering around. When we returned to the dealership after lunch, she told us the car she'd been looking for had been located but wasn't available for purchase. I think it's important to note that she never suggested other cars. She basically just looked to us for suggestions about what to do. It was left up to my husband and myself to search the website on our phones and find cars we were interested in. She was not helpful at all in this respect. She eventually located a car that I liked and I decided to purchase it. She seemed confused about the purchasing process and kept leaving the table (presumably to seek help). There is nothing wrong with asking for help when it's needed but I just felt like she shouldn't have been made to go through the process alone. It was several hours before the purchase was complete and then she didn't ask me for my down payment, even though it had been discussed. I had to remind her.
Overall, the entire day was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I arrived at the dealership at 11:00 am and didn't get home with my new car until 8:00 pm. Never did I imagine it would take so long and be so frustrating. I do have to say that the sales person was very friendly and apologetic and I felt very sorry for her. The sales manager was also friendly and apologetic and I appreciated that. Unfortunately the starter went out on the brand new car the very next morning. Walser was helpful about finding a tow truck to bring it back to the shop, and the sales person delivered a loaner car to me. It's taking a surprisingly long time to get the part that's needed and the car has been sitting in the shop for 4 days now and won't be repaired until next week. Walser said it’s a delivery issue, perhaps having to do with the terrible weather down south, so I am trying to be patient and understanding about this. Overall, my experience with Walser Hyundai was poor but they seem like they are at least trying to be helpful about it.

This dealership was horrible! I had a really bad time buying the car, the dealership was messy and disorganized. They pressured me to buy this car saying it was in great condition. After only having it for a week, the heating stopped working. I brought it into the dealership to fix it and it was a $1000 damaged part, something they definitely knew before selling it to me. When I picked it up after the repair, they had messed up the alignment on the car and the steering wheel was not turning with the wheels. There were also new scrapes on the hood caps. The manager denied this clear damage they had done and I had to threaten to sue for him to even take a look at the cameras. He realized it was a mechanic who had messed up my car and not told anyone about it. I have had the car for three weeks and the brake light on one side just went out as well. Really bad service, insincere managers and an overall unpleasant experience.

I would just want to say that I was totally impressed with the quality service i received while working with Ken Langham of Walser Hyundai. Very friendly, very informative/helpful, in my buying experience. I would definately shop here again. The only bad experience i didn't care for, I must say is that there is a finance manager I believe, didn't catch his name, but very cocky/smug, almost like a scheister demeaner. Treated us like we were going to a carhop, and made a statement, about us and out money, that "he didn't care what we did, as long as he had the check", didn't care for him at all. But Courtney, actually stepped in and saved the day for us, as we were about to go elsewhere.
