- 195.
- 195.00 fee: : Snuck fee onto form I signed, but did not add it to the total principle, which instead matched what they had told me was the out the door price, before I came in from out of state. : Now even though this fee was not reflected in the total financed or total principle, they are trying to charge me for this bogus fee. : I was considering paying cash for the RAM truck, but they said they would give me another 1k discount off MSRP, if I financed part of it, so I did finance some to have a little more cash on hand. : If you say it’s 1k less because of financing, then you sneak in a fee, your not getting 1k, your only getting $805.00. It’s a small fee, but what they are doing here are deceptive and fraudulent business practices. In all the years and all of the vehicles I have bought, this was a new trick I had not seen a dealer pull before. : It gets worse. When I contacted the bank, they have different paperwork where my signature has been forged. : When I contacted the dealer about this fee, they just gave me the run around. - Extended warranty pitch: : They tried very hard to sell me an extended warranty, that I declined. : It overlapped with the factory warranty. : My experience has been that these are not worth the paper they are written on. - Review that was pre populated: : The salesman, Tyler, was very helpful, especially since I was coming from out of state, both before and shortly on after the sale. : He did just about everything in his checklist. I do wish he had demonstrated some of the features we had not tried, like the way this truck can park itself. : The problem with this survey was that it was not just a review on the salesman, but on the entire dealer experience. For the entire experience, I would have certainly taken off points for the hard sell on the warranty, which probably is not worth the paper it’s writing on. This was also before I knew about the fee the finance guy snuck in there. The last vehicle I bought was a Jeep. Stellantis stood behind a warranty issue on that vehicle. I am sure they will do the same on the RAM. I do not need this warranty. I think the way they snuck in this extra fee is a fraudulent business practice, which I plan to report to the proper authorities, since they refused to correct this fee. Now that I found that they also committed forgery, that’s even worse. I would not go to this dealership again. The last dealership I went to in my home state of Colorado did not do any of these things. The deal they told me I would get was exactly the same when I arrived at the dealership. They did not try to add any additional fees or upsell an extended warranty or anything else. That CO dealership is one I would go back to, if I was in the market for another Jeep.
Dealer Response
Mr. Gilstrap, I apologize if the loan document was not explained to you properly while you were at the dealership, and I invite you to call me so I can review this with you. I have reviewed the documents that are in your file, and everything clearly contains your signature on it when compared to the signature that is on your driver's license so I am confused about any signatures that are not yours and I would be happy to speak with you regarding this. Regarding the $195 charge, this is a charge the bank charges to set up the loan and is referred to as a pre-paid finance charge, which is standard at many lenders and is not a dealer charge or fee. You can reach me direct at 812-258-3203 or by email at sthomas@bachmanautogroup.com. Thank you! Steve Thomas, Bachman CDJR Hyundai Finance Director.
