Don't Overpay for Your New Honda Odyssey

2025 Honda Odyssey Overview

Competes with: Chrysler Pacifica, Kia Carnival, Toyota Sienna

Looks like: A lightly face-lifted Odyssey

Powertrain: 280-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine; 10-speed automatic transmission; front-wheel drive

Hits dealerships: Late July

The current-generation Honda Odyssey enters its eighth year for 2025, hitting the age where full redesigns tend to happen. Instead, Honda is giving its segment-leading minivan a mid-cycle face-lift consisting of a new grille, fresh front and rear styling, and updated tech inside. They’re small changes, but they do a lot to give Honda’s aggressively creased family shuttle a more cohesive design.

Refreshed Looks and Tech
The 2025 Odyssey’s new looks are particularly apparent at the rear, where the design picks up the downward-sloping crease below the rear window and resolves it into the vertical reflectors from, of all things, the discontinued Acura NSX. (Acura is Honda’s luxury brand.) New wheel designs and two new colors help distinguish the freshened van from prior model years.

Inside, the update focuses on screens. A 7-inch instrument-panel display is now standard, as is a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen (1 inch larger than before) with a faster processor and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; wireless charging is standard, as well. The available Rear Entertainment System’s flip-down ceiling-mounted screen likewise grows from 10.2 to 12.8 inches.

Nothing New Under the Hood
The refresh leaves the Odyssey’s powertrain unchanged. As before, there’s only one setup available: a 280-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine making 262 pounds-feet of torque and mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard; buyers wanting all-wheel drive will have to look to the Toyota Sienna or an SUV instead. EPA fuel economy for the 2025 Odyssey lands at the same ratings as the 2024 model, per Honda: 19/28/22 mpg city/highway/combined (official EPA ratings for 2025 are not yet available).

Availability and Pricing
The 2025 Odyssey will go on sale July 23. Full pricing (including $1,395 destination) is as follows:

Safety Features and Trim Levels
Every 2025 Honda Odyssey features a bevy of safety tech. The standard Honda Sensing suite includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and lane departure steering assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic-sign recognition, a rear-seat reminder and automatic high beams.

In addition, the EX-L gets 18-inch aluminum wheels, LED headlights and taillights, a moonroof, power liftgate, and keyless entry and start. Leather upholstery is standard, with power-adjustable and heated front seats, tri-zone climate control, Honda’s CabinTalk system that amplifies the driver’s voice for scolding passengers in the wayback, second-row sunshades, blue ambient lighting, one each of USB-A and USB-C ports in the front row, and two USB-C plugs in the middle. In addition to wireless smartphone charging and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system also features seven speakers.

The Sport-L is largely an appearance package, with black 19-inch wheels and exterior trim; it also gets a black leather interior with red stitching and red ambient lighting. The Sport-L trim does, however, add two all-important USB-C ports in the third row.

Honda fits the Touring with silver-finished 19-inch wheels, the Rear Entertainment System with multizone audio and headphone jacks, navigation and the CabinWatch rear-seat monitor. The Touring also gets piping on the seats, third-row sunshades, an additional third-row USB-C port, and front and rear parking sensors.

At the top of the Odyssey line, the Elite rides on machine-finished 19-inch wheels and features a hands-free power liftgate, two-tone perforated leather seating with piping, ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, acoustically insulated side windows, 11-speaker sound system and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
