The 2023 Honda HR-V was named to Cars.com’s Affordability Report for small SUVs, and the automaker is only slightly increasing the subcompact’s starting price for the new model year. The 2024 HR-V now starts at $25,395 (all pricing includes $1,295 destination fee).
The 2024 HR-V carries over unchanged after a redesign for 2023. Technology and safety remain the same: A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system continues to be standard, while the range-topping EX-L trim comes with a standard 9-inch touchscreen; both systems feature standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which are wireless in the EX-L. The Honda Sensing suite of safety tech is standard and includes a front-view camera, traffic jam assist and traffic sign recognition.
Performance for the 2024 HR-V continues to come from a 158-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but buyers can get optional all-wheel drive for an additional $1,500 on each trim. Though official EPA fuel economy figures aren’t yet in for 2024, FWD versions got an EPA-rated 26/32/28 mpg city/highway/combined driving and AWD saw those figures dip slightly to 25/30/27 mpg for 2023. Expect them to remain the same.
