Straw Purchase

Went to the dealership after filling out the application online. Had contact with a salesman prior to inform them of my situation and the type of vehicle needed. My credit and income were not sufficient so my uncle co-signed. I asked the salesman could my uncle do it by himself and he said he needed just verbal permission to run his credit. After all the information and wait, the salesman came back and told us his GM would not do it because it was a straw purchase. He also said it was illegal. I did not want anyone in trouble especially my uncle. He is a retired Marine Corps officer and was only trying to help because I recently had triplets. I truly thought he would be penalized so I wrote on the “Talk to Steve” tab with an apology explaining why my uncle was helping me. After informing one of my family members of the situation they first asked am I sure that is illegal and second was why didn’t they offer a joint application for the loan? She stated that a straw purchase is usually for firearms and my purchase of a vehicle should have not been considered as such. I had recently had another baby after having triplets. Due to the conditions of one I cannot return to work just yet. I admit to having issues with my credit and actually trying to pay for a car with a damaged transmission after I just replaced the main computer. My uncle has substantial income and even has offered to pay for a vehicle that I find. He always uses auto pay for his bills and owns two homes. He also asked why was it considered a straw purchase and I gave him the same reasons as the salesman. The first time I purchased a car was from Steve Padgett and they were pleasant. The sales lady Melanie had sold plenty of vehicles to my family. After this incident, I don’t think it will be the same. For everyone buying a car be careful and know your car laws.

Cannot be trusted, very sneaky at what they do. Be ware, make them show you all the paperwork before you sign. When they say out the door, they are lying.

Routine oil change

I was scheduled for a oil change at 1:30 on Sat. We called the service center at approx. 9:30 Sat morning to see if anyone had cancelled a early appointment because we did not want to tie up all of Sat if we did not have to. The gentlemen at the service center said for us to come on in it wouldn't be a problem to get worked in. When we arrived which was about 10:30 the same person we had spoke to noted our appointment was at 1:30 we stated he had told us he could work us in he stated it would be approx. 11:45 before the oil change would be completed. So we had your shuttle service to carry us to Old Navy shopping center. Our vehicle was not ready until 1:00 or a little later. I suggest don't lead no one thinking you can help them out when you know your schedule want allow you to do so. We do not live in the Danville area we live in Franklin County approx 1 Hour away. So we didn't only loose the last part of Sat. we lost the first half also. Thanks for your time!
