Took in a 2017 Chevy Cruze diesel to service shop to complete a def system service bay test only the dealer can perform to clear the limp mode countdown. The problems where fixed and car had no codes when I dropped it off, $700 dollars later and not only could they not run the test but they tried to make me change the entire def tank out because it was the level sensor they said. I paid the 700 and got the vehicle which now shows a check engine light on. After taking the vehicle home I located def tank, found the level sensor not even plugged in. I checked it with a multimeter and the sensor tested fine so I reconnected to wiring harness and ran a scan tool on the car and all codes cleared again. Now I'm back where I started and don't know how to reset the countdown to limp mode without a dealership scanner/programmer to just simply clear the computer.
