I drove up from Cincinnati to see about purchasing a 2017 Certified Chevy Tahoe LT with 16k miles stickered at $45,995. Their offer was rather insulting. They wanted full price for their used vehicle while offering me $8k trade in on my 2015 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring Edition. I have an offer in hand from CarMax to buy the Mazda for $12k, in line with Kelly Blue Book “trade in” value for “good condition”. Performance Toyota valued my trade at $11,410 while looking at a similar used Chevy Tahoe (also a 2017 LT model with 28k miles listed for $42,800) at their dealership. Once I showed Performance my written CarMax offer they agreed to match it.
Bob Ross apparently only wants to sell vehicles at full price and only wants your trade if they can steal it from you...they want to pick both of your pockets at the same time. I don’t know if they are trying to make up for lost revenue during the Covid shutdown or if they are just used to preying on the elderly at their Buick dealership but at best they are simply lazy, indifferent and aloof with regard to giving you a fair deal. Not worth the drive and wish I had also read the Yelp reviews about this place before I wasted an afternoon and half a tank of gas making the trip to look at the Tahoe.
Supposedly the used car market is tight right now but I’m seeing over 100 used Tahoes advertised online within 50 miles of me and if the used market was that tight I would expect my trade to be fairly valued as well. They can’t expect to be off the grid below even the lowest KBB on trade while still selling their vehicle at full sticker price (which means the sales tax will also be inflated). Save your time and effort unless you have unlimited funds burning a hole in your pocket and you don’t have a backyard to take it out and set it on fire.

We had a great experience in the process of buying a car from Bob Ross (Branden) right from the beginning. They were quick to reply to my online request and we were able to schedule a test drive quickly. Branden was extremely accommodating, willing to negotiate and not pushy in the least (like many other places we searched). Everyone we dealt with, management and finance exceeded our expectations in friendliness etc. I would highly recommend this dealership.
