As we have bought vehicle from Bob Johnson's in the past

As we have bought vehicle from Bob Johnson's in the past including LeRoy GMC so we decided to go to look at new Terrains. As there was a lot of road noise in the vehicle we drove our salesman advised that by putting $250 refundable hold they could bring a car from another dealership the next week. We did and waited. As it was the 4th of July week we called the next week and asked the status. We were told that it would be the middle or the end of the month. So we changed our minds and requested our cash deposit be returned to us. On 7/11 Kevin O'Brien called to say the car would be there in 15 days we said no thank you and on 7/19 he called to say it was there and again we said no thank you and once again asked for deposit. On July 23, I left Kevin a message asking why we hadn't received our REFUNDABLE deposit. He said it was mailed out and would send me an e-mail showing a copy of the check which he did. Upon review the check was dated for July 22, 2024. As of July 29th, we are not in receipt of our deposit. cc: BBB

I recently purchased a 2020 Traverse.

I recently purchased a 2020 Traverse. Initially l was sold a 2017 Traverse, but on the day l went to pick it up, l was called and told they couldn’t sell it to me because there was a recall on it.(air bag), so l said ok…. I am still interested in a Explorer (used of course) and gave the salesman a couple of days to see what he could find. When l called back l asked “did you find anything?” To which he replied “nope all we have us this other Traverse on the lot” l immediately thought… l guess he didn’t try very hard… so l test drove it and bought it. I was told they knocked 1500.00 off the cost for my troubles with the first Traverse. One of the selling points was all about the “On Star” function…. It didn’t work. To the salesman’s defense, l brought my car in the following Saturday, he filled it up with gas and contacted On Star tech support and we spent quite a few hours on a Saturday trying to get the On Star to connect. No luck. The following Tuesday night , l again called the On Star tech support and did everything he asked, no connection, he stated he had tried and done everything he could on his end and that the module was bad in the car and needed replacement. So l notified the dealer and also mentioned that the back part of the interior looked like a cat with muddy paws had walked all over it. I also mentioned the first week l had it, after a 40 mile round trip the idiot light for the front driver side tire came on. I put air in it and it held. So two weeks go by and the salesman said “ they are going to take care of all of my complaints”. Dropped it off and the next day they said it was all set for now, they didn’t have the module and they had to order it…. Hmmm that’s the main reason l dropped it off…… that day when l picked up my car they said they had cleaned the interior and had found a nail in my tire and had made the repair. …… hmmmm a magical nail in the tire that only leaked once on two weeks…. Ok…. As l went to get the car( it wasn’t pulled up ready for me) l looked in the back interior and was outraged that it looked exactly the same!!! I notified them of that and took my car home( l had to get home somehow)….. another couple of weeks went by and l hadn’t heard from them so l called for an update “oh we will call you when it comes in”. …. That Tuesday l did get a call asking me what was better for me … an appointment the next day or Monday morning……well seeing as how l work for a living and had to give notice to take time off, l chose Monday morning. I call Monday morning and confirm my appointment and rental car to drive myself back home….. and they say…… “l am not sure what happened, but we don’t have a car for you to take home” …. I then spoke to the service manager who assured me l would get a ride home,and he would have the detailers there when l dropped my car off so l could show them where the mess was. …… l thought all you have to do is LOOK in the back of the car…. It was very obvious!!!!…. But l did show them and they did give me a ride home and they did drop off a vehicle for me to use while my car was in the shop…….. the icing on the cake…. I had a small windfall so l called up GM financing to find out how much the payoff was…… of course it was a couple hundred more than what my last bill was… daily interest, then she mentioned the market value of my 2020 Traverse……. 11,500-12,000… l said excuse me!!???? What is the value??? She again confirmed my make and model and mileage and gave the same reply….. I was again OUTRAGED!!!!! They told me the sticker price was29,000, minus the 1500.00 plus a 3000-4000 extended warranty so l put down 15,000.00 and then payed off the loan with another 19,000 for a total of 34,000 for a 12,000 valued car….. what a deal for them!!!!!!!! You would think for the 22,000 that they made off of me they could at least throw in a new set of tires…….. needless to say l don’t recommend visiting there for any purpose!!!
