Billon Automotive of Clinton
Purchased my vehicle from Billon of Clinton 3 years ago and was pretty happy with the service thus far. When we purchased the vehicle the salesman convinced us to purchase the extended warranty for another $2,700 that would supposedly cover everything beside routine maintenance (oil changes, tires, etc.). I recently had an exhaust gasket go bad causing my vehicle to be louder than usual. My husband fully intended on purchasing the $5 part and fixing the problem at home but then we remembered we had purchased the extended warranty which should cover this problem. I called the Billon Clinton office and was told I needed to call the warranty company and check with them because they were unsure if it would be covered or not. I called the warranty company and they told me to call Billon in Clinton that they should know because they were the ones who sold me the warranty and file the claims. I then called Billon of Clinton service department back and spoke to a man named Justin. He informed me that this fix should be covered by the warranty and set up an appointment. Mind you if he had told me that it wasn't covered by the warranty I would never have made the appointment or drove 40 minutes each way to be charged for a fix my husband could do. So I drove to the Clinton location Monday, May 8th; I was greeted by Justin and I gave him my warranty information of which he took down. I was in the lobby a little over an hour before I walked over to Hobby Lobby and told them to give me a call when they had more information for me. While at Hobby Lobby I received a call from Justin stating that the warranty company had denied the claim at repairs would be approximately $400. I told him not to do the repairs and that I would pickup the car, he then told me I would be charged a $100 diagnostics fee. Mind you I only brought the car to this facility because he told me over the phone it was covered. I expressed my disappointed in being charged for something that he had misinformed me on and got me to come to the dealership and give me no choice but to pay the bill that was reduced to $67. In the future I would suggest Billon employees in the service department do their homework before telling customers somethings covered rather than misinform them and make them pay fees they should never have incurred. Highly disappointed and will not be returning to this dealer. My husband and I are both ordering new vehicles this year and will absolutely not being doing it at this facility now or ever. Sincerely, a highly dissatisfied customer.

Jessica, We apologize that your experience with us was not satisfactory. We agree that any work performed under the assumption that warranty would cover it should be honored. Although an inspection and documentation has to be done prior to warranty coverage being approved, we should have been more vigilant in the steps prior to providing any steps toward the repair. Understandably the warranty coverage is assumed to cover most items, the fact remains it is for major components such as a transmission replacement, engine overhaul, or electrical boxes that fail and are quite expensive. It is our responsibility to ensure there is a clear understanding of the process we are following, and if any charges will be incurred, we definitely should have consulted with you prior to providing the diagnostics.

2023 Traverse Service
Their mechanic was very professional and was able to fix the problem I had with my Traverse. All of the employees were extremely nice/polite.
