Bought a used 2018 Volkswagen Atlas on Saturday 7/11/2020 and it's been the worst experience with a vehicle I think I've ever had... and I work in car sales lol. I traded in a 2016 Jeep with 40K miles and 0 issues. It was still covered under warranty. We just needed some more space (3rd Row). So, to start, The Salesman "Jesus", was a real savior and stand up guy from the beginning. To getting us on the test drive to going over numbers, getting us to fall in love with the car, and getting the payment we were looking for. Great Guy.
However during the test drive, the vehicle had a check engine light on, the AWD wouldn't engage, The lock buttons didn't work, and a "start-stop" error. The dash literally said verbatim "Engine running due to system error". Now I don't know xxx that means but sounds pretty important... Jesus appeared to think so as well as he stated he wanted to pump the brakes on the deal and have us come back Monday after his service team is able to assess the vehicle... I think "Great! this guy actually has some integrity!" Then the sales manager at the time comes out and says He wants us to go ahead and sign the papers and drive the car home. States that the issue with the vehicle can't be that severe or else it wouldn't be on the lot. (pretty ignorant statement) He advises us to bring the car in Monday and they'll get it looked at/fixed and we'll be good to go.
Come back Monday and they make my Fiance wait in the lobby for about an hour before sticking her in some 2005 Buick that looked like someone had been living in it just 30 minutes prior and tell her they will call her when it's done. Like 5 hours later of blowing time in town since we live about 45 minutes away, they call and say they are gonna put us in a rental until they are able to get everything looked at. So she goes back and they throw her in some 2015 Grand Caravan that was clearly a traded in vehicle that was currently in the process of going through reconditioning. They tell her to drive that for the night and to come back in the morning for an actual rental from Enterprise. So now we have to turn around and come ALL The way back in the morning for them to actually take us to Enterprise to pick up the vehicle.... Now mind you we bought a 3RD ROW SUV for the space. They rented us a Toyota Camry. After mentioning we DON'T want a car. its too small... So there I am signing the tablet for this car that cost ME $50 out of pocket btw thinking "Oh well... It's a car and it's only temporary so we will just have to manage."
Little did I know, all of that was just the beginning. They end up keeping the car until Thursday the 16th and say they can't diagnose or figure out the issue, that they have to send in to a VW Dealer... Where it continues to sit. NEVER during the day have I ever just received a simple courtesy call to let me know what's going on. I always have to call them. I'll wait until about 5:30 in the evening to call and then get the run around EVERY DAY! The first couple days I just got the "We can't figure it out" excuse, Then I was told the tech that was working on it no longer works there... okay. You don't have other techs?? Then the next day I was told the tech had a death in the family. Like C'mon people! This is Bull S***! You know it, I know it, just admit it
Bottom line.... I still don't have my car and nobody is reaching out or offering ANY solutions/assistance that actually makes some xxxx sense. It's now the 22nd. 11 days since I bought the car and you've had it for 9 and don't even know what's wrong or when I'll be getting it back. About to just let ya'll keep the xxxx thing.

Eli, with "The AutoButler" service, located the perfect vehicle for me in two days! The whole deal was done without me leaving my home. Eli and Stoops went out of their way for me on my trade-in. I definitely recommend them to everyone!
