We test drove a 2023 Acadia w only 51 miles on it…so technically brand new car. There was no air conditioning working during test drive. For me it was an immediate deal breaker but my husband hung in there. They offered us numerous deals and we finally agreed on a price. Promised to fix air conditioning and when fixed would have it delivered to our home 2 hours away. They contacted us and said all that it needed was Freon. Why would Freon be needed in a car that only had 51 miles….there had to be more to the story. They deliver 5 days later as promised. 2 days later air goes out again…okay so I knew there was more to this. Husband said Freon had leaked out completely and being the car guy that he is, said there must be a hole in line. We schedule it into our local dealership and boom, there was a hole in line and they are repairing it. Shame on McGrath for not looking more into this problem. I’m certain they knew it but didn’t want to deal with it…they fixed it w a bandaid. I have texted them numerous times about this and I have been completely ignored but yet to make the sell, they were texting constantly. I do not recommend this dealership at all. I trusted John our salesman but not anymore. The best part of the dealership were the 2 dogs that have the run of the place.

I don't really have anything positive to say. I went shopping with my teenage daughter to buy her a car. I saw a car online that was what we had been looking for. I made an appointment for the morning of 11/18/23 to see the car. So, the morning of, I checked my bank account and took 2 checks out of the checkbook. One for title and tags, the other for the purchase. The car was nice, the price of $11,999 was in my budget. After a test drive, we went in to strike a deal. The first number that came across the table was over $18,000 out the door. I naturally hedged. I looked at the offer, there was windshield protection, service prep, paint prep, and a number of other things tacked on. None of which I wanted. They also wanted in-house financing. I had no plans of financing, just buying out right which I had previously stated. So, salesperson went to manager, next offer $16,000 with in house financing again. I still couldn't add up what they were selling me, talked with sales person, another trip to manager. Next offer $15,000 and change. I was ready to leave at this point. So the manager came over. He threw out a story and made it $15,000 even. Now, they never once tried negotiating the $11,999 that the car was advertised as. It was always this magical "out the door" price. Needless to say, I left. I have no plans of returning. Did I already mention that I was actually ready to buy the morning before I left? I don't believe their advertised price ever existed, it was just a way to get people in the door.
