Trailer Lighting Issue
Trailer lights not working with 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 apparently due to excessive resistance on the lights if your trailer is using incandescent lamps, which both of my two trailers use. For $135 they hooked it up to a trailer simulator. The trailer connected with the simulator. The technician explained to me that it?s my trailers, that something is wrong with them, even though they worked with my sons truck. Come to find out this is a known issue with this truck and GMC issued a technical bulletin No. 20-NA-198 on 9/29/20 to increase the resistance threshold, and should have been fixed under warranty. This was never mentioned. Their advice was to fix my trailer(s). By doing a little research, I found this document, but feel as a service dealer for GM products, should have been covered.
