2023 GMC Canyon Purchase
I purchased a 2023 GMC Canyon AT4 over the Memorial Day weekend. As I live 370 miles from the dealership, all the financial transactions and paperwork were done remotely. The sale went smoothly, and they worked with me on the cost of shipping the truck. Once the substantial downpayment was wired and the all the paperwork needing wet signatures was completed, I received the truck less than a week after contacting them. The truck came with several features that I would not have chosen for myself but did come with all the features I did want. One of the features I would not have ordered was the Black Nameplate Badges. Upon delivery I verified there was no damage to the truck and all features were accounted for. The only thing missing were the black badges. I noted the missing badges and signed for the truck. I contacted the dealership about the badges and sent them photos showing the standard badges were attached. I asked if they put the wrong ones on after doing the paint seal or if the factory just overlooked it at build. I was told they would look into it and get back to me. That was 5 weeks ago. After several texts and phone calls to the salesperson and his manager, I am still no closer to getting what I paid for. At first my salesperson Joseph Wilson told me the badges were not available at the time the truck was built. He has since told me the badges were available and that they would be mailed to me. On June 27th. two weeks after being told the badges would be mailed, I contacted Joseph Wilson again to inform him I still have not yet received the badges. He said he would look into it. As of today, July 10, 2023, I have not received the badges and or any updates from Joseph Wilson or Parkway Buick. I find it amazing that for the minor cost of an item such as the black badges, the dealership would ghost a customer and not make it right. Even though I would not have personally purchased the badges, the truck was supposed to be built with them and as I was charged for them, I expect to receive them. There has been zero proactive communication from Joseph Wilson or Parkway Buick proving to me that they only care about the initial sale and have no desire or intention to work with customers after the sale. My next step will be to contact GMC directly and see if they can make the situation right.
